Ash Barty stuns in glamorous Vogue photo shoot
The world’s best female tennis star Ash Barty traded tennis gear for something a bit more glamorous in a stunning magazine photo shoot.
It is Ash Barty like you’ve never seen her before.
Gracing the cover of Australian Vogue, the world’s best female tennis player swaps out her Fila cap and tennis gear for Polo Ralph Lauren and Tiffany & Co.
In a revealing interview, she tells Vogue there’s no better feeling that being back in Australia for her home slam, the Australian Open. The best bit? The noise.
“Having played much of last year behind closed doors in a sense of not being able to connect with the fans or being able to enjoy it with them, I hope that this year in Australia we have that,” she said. “Because that’s the very best part.”

Barty started her Australian Open campaign in brutal fashion on Monday night, taking just 54 minutes to put an end to Ukrainian qualifier Lesia Tsurenko’s tournament 6-0 6-1 on Rod Laver Arena.
Speaking after the match, she spoke a familiar message.
“I think I’m my most comfortable self when I’m out on the court … I’m a very, very proud Indigenous woman. I love my heritage, I love to celebrate my heritage,” she said.
“It’s what connects me to all of you here today. It’s what connects me to the land.”
Like much of Australia, former tennis star Jelena Dokic was starstruck during the post-match interview with the 25-year-old Queenslander.
“I want to first congratulate you on your Wimbledon win,” she said, clearly emotional.
“I think I speak — not I think, I’m sure — I speak for everyone here, everyone in Australia, around the world, particularly myself — thank you,” Dokic continued.
“You gave us so much joy watching that last year. You made us so proud. I get goosebumps right now. I just want to hug you but I can’t.
“There are no words to describe what you’ve done so thankyou for that.
“Now I’m going to lose all my questions.”
The exchange melted hearts. Tennis writer Prajwal Hegde tweeted: “Jelena Dokic’s on-court interview of Ash Barty — Wimbledon, Indigenous heritage, expression — was outstanding. The world No. 1 is Australia’s and is much loved.”
Tsurenko is no slouch either — she was ranked 23rd in the world in 2019 and qualified for US Open quarterfinals in 2018.
She gave the Queenslander an almighty scare at Melbourne Park two years ago when these two last faced off in a grand slam tournament, ultimately going down 5-7 6-1 6-1.
Barty will face Italian qualifier Lucia Bronzetti in the next round next after she won a tough opener against Russian Varvara Gracheva 3-6 6-2 6-3.
