Yuzu Nintendo Switch Emulator Latest Build Brings Performance Improvements Across the Board

A new Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator build is now available for download, introducing widespread performance improvements that make playing Switch games on PC even better than before.

Early Access build 3709, which was released online a few hours ago, introduces changes for the OpenGL API that bring a 2% increased performance in all games. Sadly, no change has been made to the Vulkan API, so performance will stay the same for those using this API to emulate Switch games. The new build also introduces a local memory warmup shader for NVIDIA GPUs, which should also bring emulation improvements. According to reports, this new build also fixes an issue with Persona 5 Royal.

As with all Early Access builds, the Yuzu Early Access 3709 build is only available to Patreon’s subscribers, and its changes will make their way onto the public build in the next couple of days. You can support the developers of the popular Nintendo Switch emulator by heading here.

In the past few days, increasing performance seems to have become a major focus for the Yuzu development team. Another update released late last week introduced performance improvements for CPU-bottlenecked games, allowing for even better emulation of multiple titles.

More information on the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator can be found on its official website. The emulator’s latest public build can also be downloaded from there.
