THE Mercedes G-Class is one of the most popular luxury SUVs around the globe.
It’s loved by the rich and famous as a status symbol and is often seen being flaunted by owners on Instagram and TikTok.
However, a G-Class starts at around £120,000 and can cost as much as £180,000 for the range-topping AMG version.
So how does a ‘G Wagon’ for £5,000 sound? Well, there are a few catches.

Firstly, it isn’t made by Mercedes and the German firm’s lawyers might want to take a look.
It’s actually made by a Chinese company called Shanxi Huayu Technology and is on sale at Alibaba.com.
It’s also less than half the size of a real G-Class and has a small battery and electric motor to power it.
Charging it up takes around eight hours using a domestic plug and once full you’ll be able to travel around 70 miles.
Unlike a proper G-Class, this one isn’t all-wheel-drive either – only its rear wheels are powered.
And with only around 60hp you won’t manage much more than 25mph.
But there are more problems; this fake G Wagon costs around £5,000 to buy, but you’ll need to pay to ship and import it to the UK on top.
Then, once it’s here, you won’t be able to register it and drive it on the public road.
It’s also so small that adults can’t sit comfortably in the back, but it does have a set of rear TVs for whoever manages to fit inside.
There are also twin screens in the front for the driver’s dials and infotainment plus a choice of interior colours.
