NEW DELHI: Xiaomi recently launched its new smartphone series — Xiaomi Civi in China. Under this new series, the company introduced a slim and lightweight Xiaomi Civi smartphone. The pretty looking smartphone comes with a 32MP selfie camera with dual soft LED flash.
After launching the smartphone in China, the company has now revealed details about its global launch. According to a report by Android Authority, Xiaomi has said that it will not launch the Xiaomi Civi smartphone in global markets. This means that the smartphone might not launch in India. The company also added that it is planning to keep the Civi devices only in China. In an email response to the publication, Xiaomi said, “Xiaomi Civi remains a Mainland China-only device.”
The smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen that offers up to 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi Civi is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset and runs on MIUI based on Android 11 operating system. The device offers a 4,500mAh battery and offers 55watt fast charging support. As mentioned above, the phone packs up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest Xiaomi 11Lite NE 5G smartphone in India. This is the first smartphone of the company to launch without MI branding.
Recently, Xiaomi announced that it is dropping Mi branding from its future products. The company said, “Being a leading technology brand with a strong presence across the globe, our aim is to have a unified presence. With this new logo shift, we envision bridging the perception gap between our brand and products. The new Xiaomi logo will be used for our premium products that represent the pinnacle of technology and offer a premium experience. Ushering in the festive season, Xiaomi’s premium product series ‘Mi’ will be renamed to ‘Xiaomi’”.
