WWE star Cody Rhodes has ‘strength of an 11 year old’ during torn pec recovery
Cody Rhodes has given an update as he continues to work on the recovery from his torn pectoral back in June.
Fans are eagerly awaiting his return with plenty of people hoping he comes back at the Royal Rumble in January, just in time for the famed road to WrestleMania.
Speaking to TMZ, Cody gave an update on his recovery and laughed: ‘I was told I got the strength of an 11 year old – but I was pretty strong at 11! So hopefully soon.’
The American Nightmare – who has made it clear he’s come back to WWE to chase the world championship – admitted the company and his doctors won’t give him a timetable yet in case he tries to push himself too hard to make it back sooner.
‘They haven’t really given me one because they know I’m stupid and I’d try to test it,’ he said. ‘I got in my mind where I wanna be, and I think a lot of fans got in their mind where I’d like to be, and that’s hopefully where it’s at.’
Cody explained that at the moment, he agrees with the doctors’ assessment of his current status, and he wants to make sure he’s in the best possible shape when he does get back in the ring.
He added: ‘I mean, right now… I actually do agree with what’s going on. I think what happens next, hopefully – this is all speculative up in the air, hopefully it’s a run that people remember. I gotta be healthy for it.’
The former Intercontinental Champion noted he has no issues with the way WWE have treated him since his sensational comeback, as he pointed to the momentum he was building before the unfortunately injury.
No complaints. They’ve treated me like the house that built me, which they were. Honestly, it’s amazing,’ he smiled.
‘We were back, everything was rolling so fast and then I tore my pec. It was like the best three months of my life. Hopefully, we can get back to that soon.’
