WWE superstar Bray Wyatt has teased a sensational return to wrestling with a typically cryptic message to his followers.

The former world champion – now going by his real name Windham Rotunda – was released by Vince McMahon’s company in July 2021, which came three months after his Firefly Fun House persona and The Fiend alter ego were last seen on screen.

Now, he has hinted at an impending comeback in a series of social media posts, including a new profile picture referencing his fireflies.

He tweeted: ‘Everything good that’s ever happened to me, first came a period horrible suffering. I never ask why, I just wait for the rough part to end.

‘I was chosen for whatever reason. And I’ve got s**t to do. It doesn’t hurt anymore, it burns. I’m ready now.

‘I’m tired of watching. Tired of hearing irrelevant clowns speculate how I’ll be perceived. Tired of hearing about my greed, my desire questioned.

‘Wherever and whenever I decide to return, I’ll remind everyone why they know my name. Again. And again. Believe in me. #IFoundIt’

‘Patience. It’s almost time.’

It’s not clear whether or not Windham will return to wrestling, but we do know he’s been busy making moves in Hollywood after his close friend Jason Baker – Callosum Studios owner and special makeup effects artist – confirmed he was starting work on his first feature film in November last year.

He exclusively told Metro.co.uk at the time: ‘He’s a phenomenal collaborator, he’s become a really good friend, and we’re actually – you’re the first person that we’re publicly telling about [this]. We’re starting a film at the end of the month.’

He added: ‘It’s a feature film and it’s something really new and different. I’d say probably the best way to describe it is Ichi the Killer meets Xanadu.’

Last month, he enjoyed a reunion with former Wyatt Family teammates Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan during WrestleMania weekend in Dallas, while his departure last summer stunned fans and his next steps in the wrestling business have largely been shrouded in mystery.
