WWE SmackDown: White rabbit in crowd before Extreme Rules amid Bray Wyatt rumour

White rabbit in the crowd on WWE SmackDown

The ongoing WWE mystery took an interesting turn on SmackDown as the white rabbit was spotted in the crowd.

Friday served as the brand’s season premiere of all sorts with the company going all out for the event at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, including a blistering main event between GUNTHER and Sheamus.

Boss Triple H kicked off the show with a brief but significant introduction, first telling fans: ‘There will come a time you think that everything is finished, but that is the beginning.’

That seemed cryptic enough, but then The Game held up his microphone revealing a QR code on the back which led to another website.

It took fans to a short video showing the Three Little Pigs with shots of a dark forest and the big, bad wolf, and a creepy voice repeatedly saying: ‘Let me in’, which was of course the catchphrase for ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt during his last run in WWE before his shock release in July 2021.

And in a blink and you’ll miss it moment, Huskus the Pig – one of Wyatt’s puppet pals from the Firefly Fun House – also appears, adding yet more fuel to the fire.

That wasn’t all though, as fans started sharing videos on social media of someone in a giant white rabbit costume roaming through the crowd causing quite a stir.

At one point, the bunny was even sat right behind new commentary team Michael Cole and Wade Barrett, although they made no references to it.

However, WWE did acknowledge the white rabbit mystery for the first time on air with an animated video airing twice during the night showing the animal hopping along to a hole.

It jumped in, only to be burned by a tower of fire, and a message flashed up promising a reveal at Extreme Rules on Saturday night.

While there is still just enough doubt surrounding proceedings, all signs point to Wyatt – and the physical presence of the white rabbit suggests something sinister could go down this weekend.

WWE Extreme Rules airs Saturday night (September 8) at 1am on the WWE Network.
