WWE signs Randy Orton lookalike and fans are going wild over uncanny resemblance
The sure fire future Hall of Famer made his debut all the way back in 2004, and he’s still going strong in Vince McMahon’s company after recently recapturing the Raw Tag Team Championships with RK-Bro teammate Riddle.
On Thursday, WWE announced its latest intake of recruits for the Performance Center, with 14 hopefuls beginning their own path to superstardom with North Carolina grappler Bostian, 23, hailed as ‘a folkstyle wrestler’ with 16 years of experience to go with his ‘training as a powerlifter’.
It sounds very impressive and he could have a bright future, although at the moment fans couldn’t help but point out his uncanny resemblance to the Legend Killer himself.
There were plenty of tweets referring to him as ‘blonde Orton’, while one fan wrote: ‘This guy literally looks like a spitting image of @RandyOrton’
Another fan added: ‘I’m ready for the Randy you’re my father storyline.’
‘Now I understand why @RandyOrton says he wants to wrestle until he’s +50,’ a different fan quipped. ‘I mean, if I had cloned myself and got my clone recruited by WWE, I too would stick around long enough to have my final match with my clone. A real torch passing! Best of luck, RK2.0!’
Former WWE broadcaster Renee Young’s mind was blown, as she tweeted: ‘This is wild!’
We can definitely see it – and it seems like Bostian has more than enough going for him in his own right, so we’re sure fans will be able to get past the similarities.
He’s not the only potential superstar people are taking notice of either, with former Ring of Honor star Rok-C – real name Carla Gonzalez – one of the more high profile names.
Carla, 20, graduated from WWE Hall of Famer Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling school ‘as the youngest ROW Diamonds Champion’.
She tweeted: ‘Do you know what it’s like to wake up everyday like you’re on a mission? Mission Accomplished! #WWESUPERSTAR #HeyLookMomIMadeIt (sic)’
Another intriguing name on the list is Bianca Carelli, a second generation wrestler whose father is former Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella.
WWE added: ‘Carelli has extensive training in MMA fighting with a focus on Judo, Jiu Jitsu and Boxing.’
Her famous dad described his daughter as a ‘franchise player’, and tweeted: ‘Proud daddy moment, “making it” is one thing but watching her work for and earn it was the best part.’
