WWE Raw results, grades: Braun Strowman returns and destroys entire tag division
Braun Strowman is back in WWE after making an epic return on Raw.
The Monster Among Men – who was shockingly released by the company in June 2021 during one of many batches of extensive roster cuts – had been rumoured to make a comeback on Monday night, and that’s exactly what happened.
He made his presence felt during a Fatal 4 Way tag match with the winners set to become the new Number One Contenders for The Usos and their Unified Tag Team Titles.
The New Day, Los Lotharios, Alpha Academy and the Street Profits were fighting for their big chance, and it was an entertaining match until the big surprised came almost 15 minutes in.
Strowman first found himself standing across from poor Chad Gable, and then started attacking everyone in the match with the referee unable to do anything to stop him.
Even security were at the brunt of Braun’s relentless attack, and this is a sign the new Triple H regime in WWE knows exactly the kind of star and talent they have with the former Universal Champion.
Of course, there’s a downside here as his show of utter dominance comes at the expense of both Raw and SmackDown’s tag team divisions, with all four teams taken out and no new contenders for Jimmy and Jey.
Still, that shouldn’t take away too much from the high of Strowman’s presentation, and the way came back looking like an absolute machine.
Dominik Mysterio joins Judgment Day as group destroys Edge, Dexter Lumis costs The Miz in Steel Cage Match and more
Jumping ahead to the main event, the United States Title was showcased in a fantastic way as Bobby Lashley defended against The Miz, who was accompanied by Tommaso Ciampa.
The villains attacked the All Mighty before the bell, but after a great, physical match Dexter Lumis appeared from underneath the ring, scaring Miz back inside the cage and leaving him open to a Spear from Lashley.
After the bell, Lumis got into the cage and choked him out before stroking his face as the show came to an end.
The night kicked off with Edge coming out to address the way Dominik Mysterio betrayed both him and Rey at Clash At The Castle, with Rey coming out to beg his friend to forgive his son.
The Rated R Superstar rightly pointed out that he’s old enough to take responsbility, while Rhea Ripley came out to taunt the duo before Dominik stood by her side.
Dom couldn’t look his dad in the eye, with Finn Balor and Damian Priest attacking Edge from behind, Dom helping add to the numbers game, with the Judgment Day then using a chair to take out Edge’s leg and stand tall.
In tag team action, new champions Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez won a brief but solid match against Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H., while Damage Control watched backstage, showing that Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky are gunning for gold.
Indeed, later on the trio hit the ring to lay down their goals of winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles after the way the tournament ended in a controversial manner.
Bianca Belair came out to challenge Bayley after getting pinned at Clash At The Castle, but this didn’t go much further as Bayley weaseled her way out of competing.
Austin Theory came out and addressed Tyson Fury knocking him out before he could cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase, before Kevin Owens came out to insult him in a fun back and forth, leading to a match.
The two stars worked really well together in a fantastic bout, and KO kept building momentum win a Stunner and big win.
After the drama with Judgment Day at the top of the show, Rey Mysterio valiantly fought against Damian Priest but the Archer of Infamy repeatedly overpowered him, and picked up the victory after Dominik stopped his dad hitting the 619.
WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
