After months of torture, Rey Mysterio has finally snapped and hit back at his son Dominik.
The legendary masked luchador has been embroiled in a bitter and intense on-screen rivalry with his own flesh and blood on WWE TV ever since Dom turned on him at Clash At The Castle and joined The Judgment Day in September 2022.
Despite spending weeks refusing to strike his boy and insisting he won’t face him at WrestleMania, SmackDown saw him pushed too far.
Rey was out to battle LA Knight after a backstage row last week, and the former world champion looked strong as he went toe to toe with the rising star.
Things took a turn when Dom’s music hit and he sauntered down to the ring, eventually getting involved and distracting his dad long enough for Knight to roll him up for the upset win.
Rey’s son wasn’t done there though, as he shoved his dad and called him out, mocking him as he turned and made his way up the ramp.
Dom refocused his attention on his own mother Angie and sister Aalyah at ringside, taunting and insulting them, describing his mum as just as ‘deadbeat’ as his dad.
There was a rumbling in the crowd as Rey turned and marched his way back towards his son, laying him out with a huge punch to a huge cheer.
He insisted he didn’t want to hit his boy, but he was pushed too far and couldn’t listen to him insult Angie.
It now means next weekend is set to be an incredibly emotional one for Rey, who will first be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Friday, March 31 immediately after SmackDown.
Then, he will make history by facing Dominik in a father/son WrestleMania match with plenty of real life emotion behind it.
