At the end of Friday night’s event, Jey Uso finally turned his back on the Tribal Chief and laid out his cousin with a superkick heard around the world, standing tall with his twin Jimmy in epic scenes.
It was a triumphant moment for The Usos as they both broke away from the Head of the Table and his years of manipulation, and it kickstarts another era in one of WWE’s greatest ever stories.
The drama continued after the broadcast ended, with unseen footage released by WWE showing Roman slowly coming to after he was laid out by a double superkick from the twins.
In the video, he’s clearly stunned as he works his way to his feet and slowly leaves the arena with Paul Heyman, and Jimmy and Jey’s younger brother Solo Sikoa.
Brilliantly, the live crowd can be heard chanting ‘you deserve it’ at the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, really rubbing salt in the wound.
‘Roman was about to leave arena – crowd started “You Deserve it” chants! Now that’s hilarious,’ one fan wrote on Twitter after the footage emerged online.
‘The crowd chanted “You deserve it” to Roman after #Smackdown DAMMMM LMAOOOO,’ added a second viewer.
‘They really hit Roman with the “You deserve it” chant after they went off the air. ????,’ another person laughed, while a fourth tweeted: ‘Wow… the silence and then you deserve it look at Roman this is pure cinema!????’
With The Bloodline crumbling, the scene is set for the saga to hit another level with Roman and Solo Sikoa standing opposite Jimmy and Jey Uso heading into the summer.
That’s a high profile tag match waiting to happen, with the upcoming Money In The Bank show at The O2 in London feeling like a fitting location if WWE decided to run it this month.
