WPL Auction 2023 Highlights: Mandhana, Gardner and Sciver take home the big bucks in first ever auction

Sushma India’s vice captain Smriti Mandhana became the first-ever player to be sold at the inaugural Women’s Premier League auction, going for Rs 3.4 crore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru – so far the highest bid. Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner bagged the second-highest bid, earning a Rs 3.2 crore from the Gujarat Giants for her services in the first edition of the league. British cricketer Natalie Sciver ended up in Mumbai for the same price.
