A tiny Scottish island known for its star-cladded skies will soon be the backdrop for a memorable night out.

As of September, the Isle of Coll will be the home to the ‘world’s most remote nightclub’.

Running for two nights from September 22 and 23, Detour Discotheque – an event that hosts parties in remote corners of the world – will launch at this picturesque spot.

And with the Hebridean Isle of Coll best-known for its star spotting – and even the Northern Lights – it’s the perfect setting.

The population on the island will more than double over the course of the event – as the nightclub has capacity for 250, but the population of the island is currently only 200.

DJs such as Auntie Flo, Free Love, and the Cosmic Ceilidh Band are currently on the line-up to play on the island – which has been described as ‘Scotland’s version of the Caribbean.’

For the event, Coll’s community centre, An Cridhe, will be transformed into a 1970s New York-style venue – so there will be a lot for guests to get stuck into.

As you can probably imagine, the first batch of tickets for the weekend – which is being advertised as a ‘journey into the cosmos’ – have already sold out.

Organiser Jonny Ensall told DJ Mag: ‘Detour Discotheque is back for another spellbinding weekend.

‘The event is a wormhole that opens in unexpected places around planet Earth, and this year that cosmic phenomenon is happening on Coll – a tiny Scottish island famous for its star-filled skies.’

Detour Discotheque held their first party in a tiny fishing village in Iceland last year.
