The seven-part Trial of the Amazons crossover launches, with Naomi: Season Two giving the hero and new Justice League member her second solo title.
Wonder Woman’s Trial of the Amazons event leads releases for DC Comics next week.
The seven-part crossover is set to be the biggest event for the hero in her entire history, coming after a year of related titles and being the first Wonder Woman-centric event ever for DC. The titles crossing over include the main Wonder Woman series, Nubia & The Amazons and Wonder Girl. Three Amazonian tribes will come together for a massive contest, which will lead to an investigation after a prominent character is found murdered. However, there is more to pick up off shelves on Tuesday.
Also debuting is the first issue of Naomi: Season Two. Writers Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker and artist Jamal Campbell return to helm the the new series, following the character’s heightened popularity. This past year, not only has Naomi McDuffie joined the Justice League in comics, but she has been adapted for live-action in The CW’s Naomi TV show, created by Ava DuVernay and starring Kaci Walfall. The new comic title promises to unravel more of the mysteries revolving around Naomi, as well as feature appearances from other DC mainstays like Black Adam.
There are many other issues releasing from DC though, including the conclusion to Superman Vs. Lobo and the second part of the crossover between Nightwing and Superman: Son of Kal-El. The full list of releases can be found alphabetically below, with covers and solicitations included.
