Woman creates genius period tracker to send to the men in your life
Some days you might feel like crying at the slightest inconvenience, other days you’re probably feeling pretty damn sexy.
The miracle of menstruation means that, thanks to those wonderful hormones, we often have a pretty good idea of how our mood is going to be affected, and when.
But alas, not everyone we come into contact with will be quite up to speed, and even the most caring of partners might need a little educating.
Thankfully one woman has come to the rescue.
Jade, from the Beautiful Bodies Society, shares posts and videos about hormone health and female fitness.
Now, she’s shared a genius period tracker to help men understand their partners’ cycle – and it’s clearly resonated, as it currently has 1.9million views on TikTok.
While Jade isn’t a medical doctor, her handy manual seems to be getting it right.
Jade breaks down each stage of the menstrual cycle, advising men how to support their partners.
‘From days one to seven she is bleeding, so look after her,’ says Jade. ‘Make sure you do the extra jobs around the house, she is not going to feel like doing any extra tasks at this time.
‘From days eight to day 15, this is where her energy will start to increase, and that fun personality will come out and really shine.
‘Take her out, she’ll feel more confident and happy within herself.’
However, Jade has a word of warning for the next stage, ovulation.
‘Your cycle for your man’
1 to 7 – bleeding
– take care of me
– Look after me
– Do the extra jobs around the house
8 to 15 – post period
– party time
– I’ll feel more outgoing
– I’ll feel more energetic
– And prob want to hang around you more
16 to 20 – ovulation
– I’ll prob want to have sex with you (but can get pregnant)
– I have a little testosterone here so I’ll feel more sexy
– More energetic
– Take advantage of my fun outgoing personality
21 to 28 – pre period
– foot rubs are a must
– Do some special things for me
– Care and nurture me
– I’ll have a change in personality
– I’ll feel more tried, more moody and less active
– I’ll be less motivated to do things
– I’ll prob cry so have you hugs ready
– Definitely do jobs around the house WITHOUT ME ASKING
‘Day 16 to 20 this is the ovulation time, so she might feel a little more frisky.
‘You can get pregnant during this time so if you’re feeling more sexy and want to have more sex, just be cautious if you’re not wanting to make babies.’
Then for the final stage, Jade says it’s all about care and nurture.
‘A foot rub daily needs to be done,’ she says. ‘She’ll feel more tired, more moody, less active, so just make sure that you are a shoulder to cry on when she needs you.’
Now, it’s worth saying that some guys (read: heroes) will be totally clued up about the menstruation cycle, and not everyone’s periods are the same, anyway.
But instead of patronising, this (slightly tongue in cheek) advice has been going down a storm, with both men and women commenting to say they learned a thing or two.
Jade ends her video by saying, ‘you will be loved forever once you understand this female cycle’ – and the internet agrees.
‘This is honestly genius and so well broken down,’ wrote one commenter. ‘It’s like a manual’ wrote another. While a third guy added: ‘Not me over here keeping notes.’
