Wolaco’s compression apparel balances comfort and support

Good compression shorts and leggings can be hard to come by. Finding a pair that keeps you feeling supported and secure without digging into your skin takes some trial and error. Luckily, Wolaco solves that issue. Known for its compression pockets that allow you to comfortably stash your phone, keys, or wallet during workouts, Wolaco makes exercise apparel that’s lightweight, quick-drying, and supportive.

We tested the Fulton compression leggings and Clinton muscle tank for women and think anyone looking for compression apparel will love Wolaco’s lineup.

Wolaco’s bottoms are known for their compression pockets that are designed to hold keys and most phones.

Wolaco (which stands for “way of life athletic company”) is an athletic apparel brand known for its compression gear for both men and women. Wolaco makes compression tights and shorts, as well as running tights and shorts for both women and men. The brand also makes performance sweats and shorts for men, and a variety of tanks and tees for men and women.

Wolaco’s bottoms are known for their compression pockets that are designed to hold most phones. The pockets are a little more than 6.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide, and they of course stretch to accommodate items larger than those measurements.

I tested the Fulton compression leggings for women, a full-length tight designed for a variety of workouts including HIIT, yoga, and lifting, and the Clinton muscle tank, a top designed for breathability and comfort during sweaty workouts.

The Wolaco Fulton compression leggings come in five colors, black, gray, orange, brown, and blue—and sizes XS to XXL.

These leggings are a solid option for sweaty workouts. The polyester-spandex blend is designed to wick away sweat and reduce pilling, while the nylon elastic waistband is meant to hold your leggings securely in place without rolling or digging into the skin.

The material is thin and lightweight, and it kept me cool and dry through running, strength training, and yoga workouts. I didn’t get any sweat stains while exercising and I rarely had to adjust the waistband.

These tights have two pockets, one on either side of your legs. One sits just below the hip bone while the other hits more mid-thigh. When using the pockets, my phone didn’t weigh down my pants or feel too pressed into my leg, and it was easy to slip my phone in and out of the pockets.

The only downside I found to these leggings is that I got visible panty lines when wearing more full coverage underwear, though switching to a no-show thong solved the problem.

The tights come in five colors—black, gray, orange, brown, and blue—and sizes XS to XXL.

The Clinton Muscle Tank comes in two colors, black and gray, and sizes XS to XXL.

The Clinton muscle tank is an ultra comfortable top for exercising. It’s baggy fit isn’t too oversized and it didn’t bunch up or chafe under the armpits while running and lifting. The cropped fit hit my five-foot-three frame ideally, just above the hip bones but not too short.

Its polyester-tencel-spandex blend feels soft against the skin and lightweight. It kept me cool and comfy while working up a sweat, and didn’t build up any residual odor after a few exercise sessions.

While I liked working out in this shirt, I think nearly $50 is expensive for a basic workout tank top, especially when similar options are available for half the price. But if you don’t mind the price, it’s a great option.

It comes in two colors—black and gray—and sizes XS to XXL.

Wolaco is known for their compression pockets that allow you to comfortably stash your phone, keys, or wallet during workouts.

For quality fitness apparel, Wolaco is a hit. The Fulton tight and Clinton tank are both ultra comfy options that kept me cool and dry during tough workouts. The leggings offer the perfect level of compression and the pockets add an extra functionality aspect. The tank top was comfortable to wear during multiple workouts, and both the tights and tank feel like they would hold up well over time.

Wolaco’s gear isn’t the most expensive workout apparel out there, but it’s not exactly a budget buy either. If you can justify the price, we think Wolaco’s gear is worth the initial investment for high quality apparel that will last.
