Wipro’s operations head Sanjeev Singh joins CMS IT Services

Sanjeev Singh, who was serving as Wipro’s chief operations officer, has joined CMS IT Services as its managing director and chief executive officer effective immediately.

Singh will be operating from Bengaluru. He joins the digital solutions and cloud management firm after serving a four-year stint at Wipro where the chief operations officer besides being a member of the Wipro executive board in his last role.

Wipro confirmed Singh’s exit.

“Sanjeev Singh has decided to pursue a career outside of the company. Wipro thanks him for his leadership and invaluable contributions to the company and wishes him the best for his future endeavours,” Wipro said in response to ET’s queries.

Before joining Wipro, Singh was the CEO at Aegis for its India and Sri Lanka businesses and did senior leadership stints at Mphasis and Genpact.

It was earlier said that Singh will help in transition at Wipro after the Bengaluru-based IT major had appointed Capgemini veteran Amit Choudhary in November as its chief operating officer. It had reinstated the position of COO in its top management, a role that it had discontinued after the retirement of BM Bhanumurthy in July 2021.

Wipro has seen a series of top level exits in the last few months. In November, midcap IT firm Birlasoft has announced the appointment of Wipro veteran Angan Guha as its chief executive officer and managing director, effective December. He was last serving as CEO of Americas 2 strategic market unit.
