Windows 11 Gets New Game Pass Widget and Lot More in Latest Update; Microsoft Testing Built-in RGB Lighting Control
Microsoft has released an update to Windows 11 that has several new features that will improve the user experience. Most notably, the update adds the AI-powered Bing search to the Windows taskbar. This will allow users to access Bing chat.
Apart from this, Microsoft is also improving its widgets system, with options from Meta and Spotify. There is also a widget for the Xbox Game Pass, which will allow you to see recently added games to the service and more at a glance. The touch experience is also getting better.
Windows 11 is also coming out with an official screen recording tool, and users don’t have to rely on the Xbox Game Bar to record apps. The Snipping Tool now has a screen recording function that lets users capture the entire screen or crop for apps.
Windows 11’s in-build RGB lighting control
It also appears that Microsoft is bringing native support for RGB PC gaming accessories to Windows 11. According to a recent discovery by Twitter user Albacore, users will be able to configure PC accessories and peripherals with RGB lighting from the OS itself. Parameters such as brightness, lighting effects, speed, and colours can be changed directly from the Windows 11 settings app.
Moreover, there’s even a feature that can match accessories to the Windows accent colour. This would mean that users won’t have to rely on third-party apps from manufacturers to customise RGB effects, which can be a boon as some hardware manufacturers are not good at software.
New settings for device lighting make an appearance in build 25295. Is this the beginning of the end for low quality RGB gamer gear apps? ???? The spec for this is from 2018 and references to the feature have been around for years. Not cancelled after all ????https://t.co/oG4JbKsoeB pic.twitter.com/bMtxCH8REo
