Wimbledon order of play – Murray vs Tsitsipas restart time after curfew

It’s set to be a jam-packed day on Centre Court with some of the world’s best players taking to the courts while Andy Murray’s match with Stefanos Tsitsipas will also have to be squeezed into the schedule. Murray and Tsitsipas were only able to play three sets on Thursday evening before Wimbledon’s strict 11pm curfew cut them off early.

The cut off time has been in place ever since Centre Court had its roof built in 2009 and was part of the planning permission agreed with the local council to protect residents in the area from any late-night disturbance. It means that Murray and Tsitsipas will have to pick up where they left off on Friday afternoon.

But they won’t be first back on court as Wimbledon confirmed the tie will be played after Carlos Alcaraz’s second match against Alexandre Miller. There was initially some suggestion Court One would be used for the second half of Murray vs Tsitsipas as there are only two ladies singles matches scheduled on there for Friday.

However, Wimbledon have decided to keep with tradition in having the game resumed on the very same court. It means fans with tickets for Centre Court on Friday will be in for a treat with Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek, Murray, Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic all in action.

British No 1 Cam Norrie is also playing on Court One while the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Liam Broady, Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune among others are all in action elsewhere.

Order of Play

Centre Court (Play starts at 1.30pm)

1st Carlos Alcaraz vs Alexandre Miller

2nd Andy Murray vs Stefanos Tsitsipas (not before 3pm)

3rd Iga Swiatek vs Petra Martic

4th Stan Wawrinka vs Novak Djokovic
