William should make simple change or risk feeling ‘dry and brittle’ – claims

Prince William is very dapper and always looks handsome when out and about for royal engagements.

However, he does have noticeable hair loss which dates back several years.

Hair expert Alice Dawkins from Milk + Blush spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about what may have caused the Prince’s hair loss and what he could do to improve his appearance.

According to the expert, the “most likely cause of his hair thinning is androgenetic alopecia”.

This affects between 30 and 50 percent of men by 50 years old and is a hereditary condition.

The expert noted that “William began balding around the crown of his head in his 20s and has now lost most of the hair on the top of his head”.

However, there are steps he can take to improve the look of his hair and prevent the condition from worsening.

According to the expert, William should “ensure” he uses warm water as opposed to hot water when washing his hair.

This is because “the high temperature and steam can strip the hair of its natural oils and leave it feeling dry and brittle”.

Next, Alice advised: “Products that contain allergy or reaction-inducing ingredients can sometimes trigger hair loss.

“Adverse reactions to dyes, allergens, metals, and fragrances are all common sources of irritation and potential hair damage.

“Products that list parabens, sulphates, formaldehyde, and alcohol as ingredients should be avoided.

“Instead, opt for natural products that will cleanse and rehydrate hair without using stripping and damaging chemicals.”

Additionally, studies show that rosemary essential oil is “just as effective as minoxidil – otherwise known as Rogaiene – for treating male and female pattern baldness”.

Alice explained: “Rosemary is a great natural ingredient to use for growing, cleansing, and conditioning your hair due to its high antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial properties.

“That’s because rosemary contains ursolic acid, which strengthens circulation in the scalp to allow more oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles.”
