Warning: spoilers ahead for The Book of Boba Fett.

Episode 7 of The Book of Boba Fett drew the Star Wars series to a close in an explosive finale, as the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) joined forces with Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) to fight the Pyke Syndicate, as well as Cad Bane (Corey Burton).

On the battlefield, Din Djarin was finally reunited with Grogu, who was wearing the Beskar chainmail shirt that Mando left him as a gift when he was training with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

Boba finally came face-to-face with Cad in an intense showdown, with the Daimyo of Mos Espa piercing the villainous bounty hunter with the weapon he received during his time with the Tusken Raiders.

While several loose ends were tied up in the season finale, with Mando flying away with Grogu and Boba seemingly gaining control of the Tatooine region under his jurisdiction, there were also some cliffhangers, particularly in the post-credits scene, when it was revealed that Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) was still alive and healing in the bacta tank.

So could a second season of The Book of Boba Fett resolve the unanswered questions we have, or will they be addressed in The Mandalorian season three?

Will there be a season 2 of The Book of Boba Fett?

At this point, it’s uncertain whether The Book of Boba Fett will return for a second season.

One hint could be the fact that the Star Wars series has been nominated the Golden Reel Awards 2021 – due to take place this March – in the category Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Limited Series or Anthology.

If The Book of Boba Fett is a limited series, just like Marvel show WandaVision was described, then that could mean it was a one-time release.

However, we’re holding out hope that there will be future seasons, particularly as The Mandalorian third season is coming out later this year.

Assuming The Book of Boba Fett does return, it’ll be curious to see how the show continues to unfold, given two episodes were dedicated to the Mandalorian’s reunion with Grogu.

Perhaps it’ll be a case of the upcoming Star Wars series continuing to interweave and reveal connections between characters, such as in Ahsoka, which will see Rosario Dawson reprise her role as the Jedi.

Right now, all we can do is wait for that announcement!

The Book of Boba Fett is available to watch on Disney Plus.
