Wild Hearts Simple Workaround Can Improve Performance On PC

The PC version of Wild Hearts, the new hunting game developed by Omega Force, is plagued with all sorts of technical issues that damage the experience considerably, but a simple workaround that was discovered recently can improve performance.

As reported by user Ryan Johnson on the game’s Steam forums, changing the audio settings from the default stereo to 7.1/5.1 improves performance considerably. As I reported in my review, the PC version was almost unplayable for me, but changing this audio setting improved performance to the point that the game is now playable. Stuttering and visual glitches still happen, but overall, the experience is much smoother, managing to hold 60 FPS and above way more often.

Developer Omega Force is aware of the performance issues plaguing all versions of Wild Hearts and is currently working on updates to fix them. Next week, a new update will be pushed out for the PC version, which will address CPU usage issues and lead to smoother performance.

Omega Force are working continuously to improve performance and optimise the game for a wide variety of hardware specs across future updates. We have a patch coming next week that addresses a CPU bottleneck problem the team discovered; this should improve performance across mid-high end CPU’s. The team are also actively working on DLSS and FSR support which will arrive in a future patch.

Wild Hearts is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. We will let you know about future patches as soon as more come in on them, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
