Which schools are closed in Islington due to icy conditions?

Icy conditions have led to some schools remaining closed this morning.

The Met Office has extended its weather warning for ice untill 11am today (December 13).

It says that snow and icy patches will lead to difficult travel conditions. 

While the majority of schools are open across the capital, some are still impacted by the ice, rail strikes and general Transport for London (TfL) signal failures.

In Islington this includes Arts and Media School Islington, on Turle Road. The school will continue with remote learning.

Elizabeth Garrett Anderson is closed for years 10 and 11.

Laycock Primary School is closed for remote learning.

Moreland Primary School had a later start this morning from 10am.

St Aloysius College is closed from midday but will reopen later.

It is understood that 13 schools were closed on Monday in reaction to the heavy snow that fell on Sunday (December 11).

  • Christ The King Catholic Primary School    
  • City of London Academy Highbury Grove 
  • City of London Academy Islington 
  • Highbury Grove 
  • Laycock Primary School

  • New River College Primary 
  • St Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Primary School 
  • St Jude and St Paul’s Church of England Primary School 
  • St Aloysius College
