WhatsApp starts testing another feature for business – Times of India

Expanding the feature list of the platform, WhatsApp has started testing a new feature called Status Archive for WhatsApp Business app. The feature is aimed at business that will allow them to share a previously shared status again with their customers via their profile, reports WABetaInfo.
WhatsApp Status Archive for business
Just like other testing features, the Status Archive feature is also being rolled out in beta and is currently available with a select group of WhatsApp Business for Android beta testers. Reports suggest that Meta could expand the feature to more beta users in coming weeks.
The feature is available in WhatsApp Business beta for Android version 2.23.11.18 onwards.
How it works
Based on the screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, If the Status Archive is enabled, users will be notified by a banner available with the Status tab. With the feature turned on, the status updates will automatically get archived on the device after 24 hours of posting them. Users will also have the option to manage the archive preferences and check all the archived statuses right within the Status tab.
This feature will help businesses report their status again and again and reach out to their customers. This will save some time as well.
The feature can also come in handy for regular users too. This will let users checkout their old statuses posted by them and also repost them if they want to. However, primarily the feature appears to be more apt for businesses.
Note that the feature is in beta testing phase and is only available to a select group of beta users. We expect that the feature will expand to more beta tester in coming days along with a future rollout.
