WhatsApp starts rolling out a redesigned sticker and GIF picker: Report

Meta-owned WhatsApp is getting a new, redesigned sticker and GIF picker. According to a report by WaBetaInfo, the feature enhances the user experience by allowing them to explore an improved keyboard on WhatsApp. With the extended picker view, users can experiment with an enhanced experience by searching for GIFs and stickers better, the report says.

The redesigned sticker and GIF picker is rolling out to everyone with WhatsApp for iOS 23.13.78 update. It is available for download on the Apple App Store. Those interested can download it by updating the WhatsApp app on their iPhones.

What is new about WhatsApp’s latest sticker and GIF picker?

As per the report, the latest feature introduces the ability to scroll the picker upwards, allowing users to conveniently access a larger grid of items. With the new update, the buttons for accessing the GIF, sticker, and avatar sections have also been relocated. There are also redesigned tabs, ensuring clear navigation. Further, WhatsApp has improved the categorization of avatar packs and offers users a larger set of avatar stickers.

In other news, WhatsApp is rolling out a feature to link accounts to WhatsApp Web by using phone numbers to some beta testers. The feature is available with WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.14.18, but some lucky users may be able to get the same feature by installing certain previous versions of the app.

Once the feature is rolled out, a new option will be available to link a device using the primary account phone number and a one-time code generated by WhatsApp Web. Users will be required to enter the phone number along with the country code. They will then be prompted to enter an 8-character code to complete the login process. This will reduce the dependence on scanning the QR code to login to WhatsApp Web. Over the years, users have reported facing issues like camera not working properly while logging in using the QR code. The feature will be helpful to overcome similar issues.
