WhatsApp is changing voice notes – and it could spare you from embarrassment

WHATSAPP is making a huge change to voice notes that could be useful when you’ve sent something you regret.

If you’re too slow to delete an audio message this new feature could be the fallback option to spare even more issues.

And by that we mean, preventing anyone from sending it onto others.

It turns out WhatsApp is looking to give voice notes the self-destruct treatment.

This means it’ll only play once and can’t be repeated.

We’ve already seen it used for pictures and texts, so it seems only fair that audio should get it too.

WABetaInfo revealed a leaked screenshot of the new feature ahead of release.

There’s currently no official date for when it’ll be available to everyone, so we’ll have to wait and see.

If you want to try the latest WhatsApp features first, you can join the app beta programme.

How to get WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m In” button and then click “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Joining the WhatsApp beta on iOS is more difficult, and has limited capacity.
