What your star sign says about your holiday habits

Scorpios are the most likely star sign to splurge on holidays according to a new study. The water sign averages $2,927 (£2,296.23) per holiday according to a survey of 2,000 people.

While air signs – Libras, Aquarians and Geminis – tend to be the most conscientious when it comes to spending on holidays. However, the lowest spending sign is actually Taurus, spending on average $2,240 (£1,757.28).

The study was carried out by CheapCaribbean and asked 2,000 people how much they were spending as well as what this summer would bring for them.

Results showed a majority of all respondents are looking forward to spending most of their time outside of the house (59 percent), especially Capricorns (65 percent) and Pisces (66 percent).

And Cancers in particular (64 percent) are looking to do something fun every week.

When it comes to traveling, Cancers (44 percent) and other water signs (Pisces and Scorpios, 40 percent) are the most likely to book a trip last-minute.

And air signs match fire signs (33 percent each) when it comes to last minute packing.

Dana Studebaker, vice president of marketing, consumer brands at Apple Leisure Group said: “While each zodiac sign may have a different preference on how they spend their vacation and what makes it a relaxing experience, most zodiac signs can agree that vacations are one of the best ways to relax and unwind.

“As travellers look to plan their vacations, finding inspiration from their astrological chart can be a new and exciting way for them to discover what type of vacation they’ll enjoy most.”

So where should you go on holiday this year? All signs agreed with family-friendly spots (36 percent) as well as tropical holidays (28 percent).

But if you’re a Gemini (29 percent) or Capricorn (28 percent), you might find yourself opting for theme parks over beach holidays.

And it may come as no surprise that water signs – Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces – have an affinity for the beach (37 percent).

Do you plan your trip in detail or go with the flow? Well Geminis, (44 percent), Leos (48 percent), Virgos (44 percent), Sagittariuses (41 percent) and Pisces (42 percent) all like to have things sorted.

Whereas Aries (40 percent), Tauruses (43 percent), Cancers (47 percent), Libras (46 percent), Scorpios (42 percent) and Aquarians (43 percent) go with the flow.

Capricorns on the other hand were divided when it came to planning their trips.
