What we know about Death in Paradise season 12

With series eleven of the hit BBC murder mystery show Death in Paradise now underway after a well-received 90 minute special over Christmas, many fans will be wondering about the show’s future.

Series 11 of the show has delivered many interesting plots, including a skydiver who appeared to have been murdered in mid-air and a murder on a family-run golf course, all set in the beautiful scenery of (the sadly fictional) Saint Marie.

Speaking in January 2021, executive producer Tim Key said: “Our amazing cast and crew have delivered against the odds this year and we can’t wait to get going again – we’ve got huge plans for the future, with lots of surprises to come.”

Fortunately, fans can rest easy in the knowledge that series 11 will not be the last we see of the show that currently stars Ralf Little, Josephine Jobert and Don Warrington as part of its talented cast.

The BBC commissioned a twelfth series of the hugely popular show when it announced series 11.

BBC commissioning editor Tommy Bulfin has said that fans “have lots to look forward to with series 11 and 12.”

When is Death in Paradise series 12 set to be released on BBC?

With series eleven currently underway, it’s unsurprising to learn that we don’t yet have a specific air date for series 12.

However, we do know that the series is due sometime in 2023.
