What UK music festivals are cheaper than Glastonbury 2023?
UK music lovers are still reeling from the announcement that Glastonbury is massively hiking its prices for the 2022 festival.
One of the world’s most famous music events, the five-day festival returned in 2022 after a two-year break thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However next year’s Glastonbury has soared in price, with tickets rising from £270 this year to an eye-watering £340.
With everyone already feeling the pinch from the cost of living crisis, the public has already threatened to boycott next year’s festival – rumoured to include Eminem as a headline act.
Music festivals have long been a staple of summers in the UK, and while Glastonbury may be among the biggest, there are plenty of other options that won’t break the bank quite as much.
Some of these festivals’ 2023 tickets have already gone on sale and are not available for next summer, however this can be your guide for the years of music ahead.
So, which other music festivals taking place in the UK are a cheaper alternative to Glastonbury?
What music festivals are cheaper in the UK in 2023?
Reading and Leeds
Reading and Leeds Festival is almost as famous as Glastonbury, and boasts just as impressive a lineup.
Last year, Arctic Monkeys, Megan Thee Stallion and The 1975 were among the top musicians to take to the stage at the event, nd the likes of Billie Eilish are rumoured – but unconfirmed – to play in 2023.
Tickets for Reading and Leeds will set you back £259.20 – not exactly cheap, but a good deal less than Glasto.
Creamfields
Dance festival Creamfields is the UK techno lover’s dream, with massive names such as David Guetta, Fatboy Slim and Calvin Harris among those performing at the 2022 event.
The festival has since split into two events – Creamfields North and Creamfields South – with each taking place on a different bank holiday, and each with mega lineups.
Three days of camping at Creamfields will cost £240.00 for the 2023 festival.
Wireless
Wireless Festival has been confirmed to return to London’s Finsbury Park for a weekend of massive tunes in July 2023.
While the lineup has not yet been revealed, the 2022 edition boasted Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Tyler, the Creator and many more – so there are, naturally, high hopes for next year.
Ticket prices for 2023 have not been confirmed, however last year a one-day ticket cost between £90-£100, a two-day pass for between £168-£188, and the three-day bonanza for £245 – £265.
TRNSMT
Glasgow’s Trnsmt festival has been growing in popularity year on year, with the 2022 edition its biggest yet.
Last year saw Paolo Nutini, The Strokes and Lewi Capaldi take to the stage at the indie festival to play to crowds of 50,000 people, and fans are waiting eagerly for the 2023 lineup to be announced.
Three-day weekend tickets for Trnsmt 2023 cost £200.10, making it among the cheapest major festivals in the UK.
Parklife
Parklife festival is a favourite among music lovers thanks to its diverse lineup, with multiple genres headlining the event.
Last year saw 50 Cent, Megan Thee Stallion and Lewis Capaldi stun the 80,000-strong crowds, as well as dozens of acts for the dance music fanatics.
Parklife 2023 tickets went for £155 for the full weekend, with punters already counting down the days.
All Points East
London’s Victoria Park transforms each year to welcome some of the biggest music acts – and 40,000 revellers.
In 2022 the London favourite offered the likes of Gorillaz, The National, and Chemical Brothers across two weekends in August, making it the biggest All Points East yet.
Last year, one-day tickets for All Points East cost £59.95, with options to buy multi-day tickets across the six total days – tickets have not yet gone on sale for 2023.
