What to do in Denver this weekend: Carly Rae Jepsen, an RV show and a Flogging Molly spin-off

Flogging Molly spin-off whirls into Globe Hall

Saturday. As one of Celtic-punk’s finest acts, Flogging Molly is often touring internationally — the L.A. band is hitting the road again through March for its latest this time with openers Anti-Flag and Skinny Lister (see their March 12 concert at the Boulder Theater; $49.50 via bouldertheater.com).

Before that, however, Colorado-based post-punk husband and wife duo Volores, featuring Flogging Molly bassist Nathen Maxwell and singer-songwriter Shelby Maxwell, will play Denver’s Globe Hall on Saturday, Jan. 7, as it readies for the release of debut album “Ages.” Think “mountain goth,” as the band has called it, with a hushed, melodic counterpoint to Flogging Molly’s riotous anthems.

Doors at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m. at 4483 Logan St. Tickets: $15, with 16-and-up admission (or under 16 with a parent or guardian). With openers Vatican Vamps and Egoista.

Also in music: Bison Days at Number 38, timed to the Stock Show, features free and ticketed concerts, drink and food specials, and other treats Jan. 7-22. Acts include Sugar Britches, Double Wide, Joe Nichols, Michael Ray, and Casey James Prestwood & the Burning Angels. Attendees get one free Odell Kindling Golden Ale upon entry each day. nmbr38.com/bisondays or call 303-493-6651 for more details.
