We take our kids out of school for holidays… we get fined but we don’t care

THESE parents claim they don’t care about being fined for taking their kids out of school during term time as it saves them thousands on holidays.

Shane and Brogan Cole have taken three holidays with their son Archie, 10, and daughter Ellie, seven, that have left them paying out hundreds of pounds in penalties.

The family, from Coventry, West Midlands, had to swallow an eye-watering £480 fine for their holiday to Zante, Greece.

However, the influencer parents say they have no regrets as they save £2,000 by jetting off during the school term.

They even posted a clip on TikTok in which they danced happily as they boasted: “[We] saved 10 times [the fine] by going in term time.”

Brogan, 29, said: “I told the school before we went away, and they just gave me the fine.

“The fine is £60 per person, and we had up until the 6th of July to pay it, or else it would double to £120 each. And there’s four of us so it’s a lot of money.

“Holiday companies make it so expensive to travel in summer, so that’s why we do it.”

She added that they feel the fines are unreasonable as they are only trying to take their own children on holiday and “create memories” with.

Brogan also slammed schools for adding to the cost of trips away when people are facing severe financial pressures.

In the comments, social media users were left divided over the holiday hack.

One wrote: “We’re taking our boys in school time next year, saved over £700 on the holiday by [booking] it for the week before the half term.”

Another added: “We are expecting one too but saved £3,000 on our holiday to Florida by going away during May half term and the week after.”

However, others were quick to slam the Coles, with one fuming: “Right, so when the teacher is spending all her time getting everyone on the same page, please don’t moan that your child has missed half the curriculum.”
