We simulated Burnley vs Manchester United to get a score prediction
Manchester United will be looking to put their FA Cup woes behind them and bounce back with a win on Tuesday, as they face Burnley in the Premier League.
Anthony Elanga missed the decisive penalty in the shootout against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup fourth round, with United losing 8-7 on penalties. Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes both missed glorious chances to win the game in 120 minutes, handing United their earliest FA Cup exit since 2014.
Ralf Rangnick’s side currently sit fourth in the Premier League, and a win against bottom-of-the-table Burnley would keep United in the Champions League qualification spots for another week.
Fernandes suffered a knock against Middlesbrough on Friday night but should be fine for Burnley, whilst Victor Lindelof could be back in contention after suffering from illness.
So, what line-up will Rangnick select? And, what could the final score be?
We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Burnley vs Man United on Tuesday and this is what happened…
Burnley vs Manchester United score predicted by simulation
We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn’t select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.
We predict that the Clarets could set up in a 4-4-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Pope; Roberts, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; McNeil, Westwood, Brownhill, Cornet; Weghorst, Rodriguez.
We predict that Manchester United could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo, Elanga.
Burnley took the lead at Turf Moor with the first chance of the game through Jay Rodriguez.

Dwight McNeil did brilliantly to beat Luke Shaw down the right and charge towards goal, and his cross into the box found Rodriguez unmarked who had the simple job of sweeping into the net.
But United took control of the game after the home side’s opening goal, and on the stroke of half-time, United levelled the scoring as Jadon Sancho found the net.

Sancho played the ball into the centre before darting forward into the box, and his run was met by Elanga’s through ball which set Sancho up for a first-time finish at the near post.
Elanga was United’s biggest threat going forward, and the Swedish winger made it 2-1 to United after capitalising on a Burnley mistake five minutes after the restart.

Connor Roberts was caught in possession by Elanga on the halfway line, and the winger used his pace to race through on goal. Away from any defenders, Elanga composed himself before firing past Nick Pope and into the bottom corner to give United the lead.
However, Burnley equalised though just 10 minutes later as Wout Weghorst scored with the Clarets’ second shot of the game.

Maxwell Cornet beat Dalot with ease down the left and fizzed a cross towards the near post which was met by Weghorst, and Burnley’s January signing fired past De Gea at his near post to level the scoring.
Substitutes Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani both hit the post for United in the final 10 minutes of the game as Rangnick’s side became desperate for a goal, but it never came as the Reds dropped two big points at Turf Moor.

FIFA 22 predicts that Anthony Elanga could put in his best United performance to date with a goal and assist against Burnley, but a dodgy defensive display could see United draw at Turf Moor and potentially drop points.
