Watch hilarious moment Tesla drivers tries to fill motor with petrol
THIS is the moment a Tesla owner seems to attempt filling his luxury vehicle with petrol – rather than plugging it in to charge.
Dismayed onlookers tried to warn the driver, but the woman seemed set on her goal to fill up her car.
The video takes place at a petrol station, where a woman can be seen getting out of her car and walking to the pump, before she looks visibly confused as to where the fuel hatch is.
She peers near the wheels, touches the door handles and opens the electric charging point – to no avail.
One person can be heard saying: “It’s electric!”
Eventually a man saw her struggling and came over, trying to explain that her vehicle was electric rather than petrol-based.
Defeated, the driver eventually puts the pump back and gets into her car.
The situation appears to be a set up, perhaps created to shock viewers into wondering how a Tesla owner could be oblivious to how their car runs.
Another Tesla driver faced a difficult situation when his car slammed on the brakes in a busy tunnel while using self-driving mode.
Seconds after braking, the car caused an eight-vehicle crash that injured nine people.
Full Self-Driving currently costs $15,000 and Tesla considers the system “in beta”.
Tesla owners who buy are really testing the software at their own cost and at their own risk.
Although termed ‘full self-drive’, it really just combines automatic lane changes and auto steering to evaluate and execute a lane change when the driver uses a turn signal.
Just hours before the crash, Tesla CEO Elon Musk had triumphantly announced that Tesla’s “Full Self-Driving” capability was available in North America.
But Tesla requires users to know that they must remain alert and in control of the car at all times during AutoPilot or FSD.
Elon Musk replied to the video on Twitter, saying: “Interesting.”
Another Tesla owner is fuming after spending £100k on a Model S which “looks like it was built by toddlers”.
Reddit user @r/Wellthatsucks showed in his video how the rubber trim around the door frame was peeling away, and the plastic trim near the taillights wasn’t flush with the body of the car.
At the end of the video, he also demonstrated how the exterior window trim was coming away from the bodywork.
But the most concerning feature was the frunk (front boot) lid, which, when opened, was shown to be rocking back and forth.
Most commenters agreed with the poster – and think that the build quality of Teslas is not good enough.
