Watch as parent lets pushchair roll into the road in front of an HGV

A VIDEO caught the shocking moment a pushchair rolled out in front of an HGV on a busy road.

Uploaded to TikTok by user @andrewmartin29, the video has the description: ‘Scared the poo out of me put your brakes on prams when leaving unattended I was driving an HGV.’

The video is shot using a dash cam in the HGV and starts with the driver making their way along a fast road.

Before long, a woman comes into view on the left-hand side of the shot on a path.

However, it becomes clear that she isn’t walking – she’s chasing her pushchair which is rolling by itself towards the road.

The driver of the HGV sees it and manages to brake hard as the pushchair tips over on top of the child sitting in it.

The woman drags the pushchair off the road with the child still attached and places it on the grass bank.

She then sees to the child, clearly in a state of shock at what has just happened and how lucky she was the HGV driver reacted quickly.

But people in the comments blasted the mother for not putting her pushchair’s brakes on.

One said: “Fair play to you for being so aware.

“My goodness, I put the brakes on even if we stop the pushchair for a second it’s literally a habit I have.”

Another said: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… how do some people survive for an entire day?”

While a third said: “Omg you always put the brakes on the buggy even if just for a second totally irresponsible.”
