The viral video sparked outrage after the careless biker swerved around the road before clashing with oncoming traffic.

The footage was shared around Twitter and quickly caught the ire of road users who slammed the cyclist’s foolish antics.

After swerving around the road and dipping in and out of the wrong side of the road, the cyclist unbelievably decides to attempt a wheelie.

Clearly not looking where he’s going, the biker comes face to face with a taxi while propped up on one wheel.

The blunder caused the cyclist to flip over his handlebars before looking sheepishly back at the cameraman.

Luckily, the biker looks to have walked away from the crash unscathed.

Twitter users were quick to share their disproval of the cyclist after the footage was viewed hundreds of thousands of times online.

One commented: “Lucky. Hopefully the bike and headphones were broken, no more, and he learns from that.”

“I’m glad he’s not in a car if that’s how he cycles,” said another.

The crazy encounter caused one user to question: “What kind of nonsense is this?

They added: “He has an open road in front of him but decides to swerve into a taxi on the other side. Fool!”

Radio and TV presenter Jeremy Vine also weighed in, as he described it as “the worst cycling imaginable”.

However, Jeremy also said the incident was actually proof of the safety of riding a bike.

He tweeted: “A lot of angry flag-types sending me this clip as if it’s proof that cyclists should be taken off the roads.

“In fact it shows the opposite: take the worst cycling imaginable, and it only puts the rider at risk.

“Put this lad in a van and he’ll kill five people. This is why I cycle.”
