A DRIVER who chose to take on a deep ford in a VW Golf regretted their decision just moments later.
In the video uploaded to TikTok by user @bengreg3rs, the driver can be seen steering left and right to no avail.

The video is shot using a smartphone and starts with the white VW Golf making its way gingerly towards the murky water.
Although it doesn’t appear to be raining, the ford crossing is clearly far higher than it usually is given road signs are underwater.
The majority of drivers would simply turn around and find another route, but not the driver of this Golf.
They plow into the water with confidence, but it all goes wrong just moments later.
From the video’s description, this is Rufford Ford in Nottinghamshire – the watery grave for many a car, some caught on camera and shared online.
This Golf is yet another, as steam can be seen coming from its bonnet almost immediately upon entering the water.

Seconds later it is visibly bobbing up and down in the water and despite the driver steering left and right the VW is going nowhere.
Given the age of the Golf and the cost of rebuilding a water-damaged engine and interior, it’s very likely an insurance write-off.
People didn’t hold back in the comments section of the TikTok video.
