Watch as cyclist shoots out on junction and people are divided on who to blame
THE DRAMATIC moment a young cyclist nearly collided with a car has left people divided on who was to blame.
His near miss was captured on a dash cam and shows the boy shoot across a junction and miss the car by mere inches.
In the clip, the youth is seen riding his bike from a footpath onto the residential street as a car approaches the same spot.
However, in a bid to avoid the vehicle, the boy has to brake which results in him falling from the bike.
Despite the commotion, the pair exchanged just a few words before the driver left the scene.
“Are you okay?” a female voice asked from inside the car.
“Yeah I’m fine”, the boy said before trailing off and telling the driver to “watch where you’re going”.
“Just be careful next time because someone might come out of the junction quicker,” she replied.
However, people were divided about which party may have been in the wrong.
“To be fair, you (the driver) drove to that give way very fast,” one user suggested.
“He’s only a young lad, could have been a lot different. Also weaken your front brake a bit,” added another.
Others were adamant the driver was acting carefully and avoided a worse situation.
“Good driver, well done, most people will be looking down the road to get out quick,” one person wrote.
Another agreed, saying: “She was so mature about this.”
The video has so far received 103,000 likes and more than 1567 comments on Tiktok.
