Watch as car pulls out of junction and HITS motorbike – who was in the wrong?
A VIDEO shows the horrible moment every motorbike driver dreads as it passes a junction on a busy A-road.
Uploaded to Facebook on the UK Dash Cams page, the video shows why it’s so important that motorbike riders and car drivers take their time to look properly at junctions.
The video is shot from the bike rider’s helmet camera and starts on a busy A-road in normal traffic.
After a few seconds the Honda Civic in front of the bike begins to indicate left.
The Honda peels off leaving an empty road ahead for the biker to proceed.
You’re able to make out cars queuing at the junction the Honda pulled off at, waiting to turn onto the A-road.
At this moment, the biker seems to looks down at their bars, maybe checking their speed, before accelerating hard.
When the biker looks up, the worst is happening – a car is pulling out from the junction, not having seen the bike behind the Honda.
There’s no time for the biker to react and the Blue Kia Picanto smashes into the motorbike sending the rider flying.
Both bike and rider slide across the Tarmac and come to a stop on the other side of the road.
The biker is clearly in shock and lies down next to their bike to come to terms with what happened.
The Blue Kia can be seen in the distance reversing back off the road and the driver running over to check them.
But who do you think was in the wrong? Was it all the car driver’s fault for not looking properly, or did the biker look away at a vital moment?
Jack Dixon said in the comments: “Yes the blue car is legally to blame.

“But, the bike could’ve mitigated the danger. He could see traffic waiting at the junction but instead of waiting 10 yards he decide to accelerate out of a blind spot past a junction.
“You have a duty to protect yourself, I was always taught to assume everyone else on the road is an idiot.”
While Katy Patrick said: “My husband ride bikes for years he said the bike should never have accelerated before the junction only AFTER, that would have totally avoided that.”
