Watch as biker overtakes queuing cars because they don’t know the Highway Code
THIS is the shocking moment a biker overtakes miles of queuing cars because drivers are not aware of the Highway Code – but viewers are divided.
The dash cam footage shows a biker riding down a dual carriageway, with traffic beginning to build in both lanes, and signs indicating roadworks up ahead.
The rider filters through the waiting traffic, but then approaches cars straddling both lanes – in what appears to be an attempt to deter other motorists from using the outside.
The footage then shows drivers trying to merge to the left side, despite their being hundreds of yards left before the roadworks begin.
Moving around the stuck queue of cars, the biker is then able to have a clear run – although this is short-lived as he again comes up against a procession of cars indicating to the left.
A quick manoeuvre past the waiting traffic shows that there’s about 400 to 500 yards left to travel until the outside lane is shut – and it’s completely empty.
The poster initially explained on the video: “Here everybody is using both lanes, as you should do correctly. It seems to work perfectly, but then we come to a few paper mache traffic cops, and everything goes wrong.
“Look how far there is until the closure, all this space—a junction is a bit blocked by all the traffic with a cop sitting there.
“Tell you what absolute lunacy, leaving all that road space unused, stopping people using the road correctly.
“It’s really simple to use all the space available and then merge and turn like a zip, stop.”
The video has gone viral on social media, with thousands of views – and 507 comments on TikTok.
But viewers were left divided after watching the footage.
One said: “It’s fine, mate. The more people on the left lane, the less there is on the right lane for people like us who know how to drive.”
Another person commented: “I’m a lorry driver and see this most days. Please keep posting these videos as most drivers need educating.”
A third pointed out: “It is called queuing and being decent human respect other people.”
This comes after a driver has divided opinions with his spirited manoeuvres through traffic – even overtaking 20 cars queing at lights.
Plus, a TikTok video showing the moment a biker overtakes dozens of queing cars has left viewers divided.
