Watch as angry car driver swerves at cyclist towing their CHILD in trailer

A SHOCKING video shows the moment a cyclist was swerved at by an angry driver in a Mercedes.

The cyclist, named Simon, was towing his child behind in a trailer at the time and said on Twitter: “No f’in way are you getting that close to my son and I and getting away with it.”

The short video is filmed using a camera mounted at the rear of the cyclist’s bike and was uploaded to YouTube on Road.cc’s Near Miss of the Day section.

In it, the cyclist can be seen riding on the public road with his son sitting in a trailer being towed behind.

A Mercedes looks to try to overtake the cyclist, but stops at the last moment and swerves at the bike as if to avoid a car coming the other way.

The Merc’s alloy wheel is centimeters from the child in what is an extremely dangerous move from the driver.

The cyclist explained on Twitter: “I had my one-year-old son in the trailer behind me, and my son (aged 7) and daughter (9) were riding their bikes ahead of me.

“We were using a residential road to get from the local greenway to the centre of Chester.

“The driver pulled out of a side road, onto the wrong side of the road, passed two legal scooter riders, a car, and then tried to pass me.

“We were moving towards the centre of the road to pass a parked car on double yellows, and two vehicles were heading towards us on the opposite side of the road.”

The cyclist, who said he’d been riding with his kids in this way for nine years without incident, reported the shocking video to the police.

The Cheshire Constabulary confirmed to him that “they have sent the registered keeper a letter.”

However, another cyclist commented: “Having submitted a number of incident reports with clear video footage, I am gaining a distinct impression that unless there was injury, they are not interested.”
