Watch £120,000 flying car that uses huge electric drone to beat traffic

A CHINESE company has confirmed its flying car, which is able to hover past traffic, will be available soon.

Xpeng AeroHT has successfully completed first test flights for its latest flying car the X3.

The X3 is an electric car with fold-away rotors that is driven just like any other car on the ground but is also controlled with its steering wheel in the air.

The company says the car will be on sale in 2024 and will end up costing around £122,000.

Xpeng shared a video that shows the first test flight for the latest version of its vertical take-off car.

In the video, the X3 takes off and carries out a few moves before returning to the ground.

To increase the X3’s safety, Xpeng has given the new model a dual-engine backup system that kicks in if the primary engine fails.

Despite having other flying ‘cars’ this is the first time that they have managed to design one that looks similar to a traditional car.

The X3 can be driven as a normal car on the road and weighs as much as two tonnes.

XPeng AeroHT has not yet confirmed how long the X3 flying car will be able to fly.

However, it’s thought it would be able to stay airbourne for some thirty-five minutes, similar to Xpeng’s previous version the X2.

The X2 can transport two passengers and reach 80mph.
