Carlton young gun Sam Walsh had a day out as the Blues gave their premiership credentials a boost by knocking over Fremantle at Marvel Stadium.
The 21-year-old midfielder made 40 disposals – including 16 in the second quarter alone – and won 13 contested possessions in his side’s 12.9 (81) to 7.8 (50) thumping of the Dockers.
He also had 11 inside 50s and made seven clearances.

Just a week after an ordinary showing against the Tigers, Carlton trailed by nine points at the first break, before putting together a 5.2 to 1.2 second term to lead by 15 points at the main break.
A mid-field arm-wrestle broke out in the third term before the Blues kicked away in the final.
Charlie Kurnow lead the scoring for the blues, kicking four majors.
It was a great showing by the Blues, who got pumped by six goals in their first meeting in round five.
The loss may also get worse for the Dockers – Nat Fyfe may have some match review trouble for making contact with an umpire.
Just after the three-quarter siren, Fyfe was pushed from behind by Blue Matt Cottrell and braced himself against umpire Robert O’Gorman.
