Wallabies make history at new Sydney stadium
The Wallabies will have the honour of hosting the first international event at Sydney’s new Allianz Stadium when they meet world champions South Africa on September 3.
The blockbuster Rugby Championship Test at the 42,500-capacity venue will come a week after playing the Springboks at Adelaide Oval.
“We are extremely excited to be able to host the first ever international event at the new Allianz Stadium,” Rugby Australia chief executive Andy Marinos said.

“To have the Wallabies taking on the world champion Springboks in front of over 40,000 supporters is going to be an amazing experience, and one I’m sure those in attendance will never forget.
“I would like to thank the NSW Government for their support in hosting the Test and congratulate them on what is a truly world class stadium built here in Sydney.”
Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 20.
The Wallabies will kick off their 2022 campaign with a three-Test series against England in July.
