Apple unveiled its first-ever mixed reality headset, Vision Produring its annual developer conference, WWDC 2023. The latest search data analysis has revealed that online searches for Mixed Reality (MR) on Google have increased globally by 1130% since then. According to a report by Digital-adoption.com (spotted by The Economic Times), the surge was noticed since Apple launched the Vision Pro headset last week.The report also mentioned that online interest in ‘VR’ went up by 300% on June 5 when Apple introduced the new $3,499 spatial computing headset in the US. Meanwhile, searches for ‘augmented reality’ soared by 545% after Apple announced the Vision Pro headset.
Interest in AI also sees a massive surge
“There has been a massive surge in AI interest this year. Apple’s announcement of Vision Pro has captured audiences at the right time, when new AI technologies, like ChatGPT, have become accessible to almost anyone,” a spokesperson from Digital-adoption.com commented.
The online interest in artificial intelligence (AI) is currently at its highest point in history and Apple’s announcement comes at the same time.
Google Trends data revealed a 619% surge in ‘AI searches since 2004. This year has also been a breakout year for AI. Search volume related to the technology has more than doubled from 17 million in January to 42 million in May.
Why the surge in AI-related searches
The report adds that rapid growth and adoption of accessible technologies like ChatGPT and Google Bard might be partly responsible for this surge
The report explains the new technology as a step forward in the “era of spatial computing,” where “digital content blends seamlessly with your physical space.”

Users searching to ‘Buy Apple stock,’ has also spiked since Apple’s announcement. The volume of such searches has increased by 1482% across the world since the past week.
Apple Vision Pro: Key details
Apple Vision Pro will use two ultra-high-resolution displays to transform any space into a personal movie theatre. The company also claims that the screen can be stretched to 100 feet wide and the device will support an advanced Spatial Audio system
The Vision Pro will also support the EyeSight feature that will help users to stay connected with others around them. Whenever a person will approach someone wearing the Vision Pro, the device will become transparent and will allow the user to see others while running content for the user’s eyes.
