Drag queen Fatt Butcher was captured sniffing poppers live on Joe Lycett’s Big Pride Party on Channel 4 on Sunday, and viewers are screaming.

Comedian Joe marked 50 Years of Pride in the UK with a big queer celebration held in his Birmingham hometown.

During the two-hour inclusive spectacular, which also featured a lesbian proposal, eagle-eyed viewers spotted entertainer Fatt Butcher clutching a little bottle of the legal high and noted them having a cheeky inhale.

Naturally, the internet went mad for the moment, with the artistic director later confirming the events on their Instagram Story

‘Mom, I just did poppers live on Channel 4,’ they penned.

Viewers expressed their delight at the scenes at hand on social media, with one saying they were ‘obsessed’.

‘@FattButcher sniffing poppers live on @Channel4 next to @joelycett is everything I needed tonight,’ said another.

A third was convinced this was a landmark moment in television history. ‘Sniffing poppers live on national television,’ they said. ‘This has to be a first.’

Poppers are sold in nightclubs, bars, sex shops, drug paraphernalia head shops, over the Internet and in markets.

Sniffing them increases blood flow to the body giving some users a head-rush that lasts for a couple of minutes, a sense of euphoria, and increased sex drive and skin sensitivity.

Because poppers increase blood flow and can relax the walls of the anus and vagina, some people take it while they’re having sex.

Some people say that it also makes their erections stronger, and their orgasms more intense. But for some men, it’s the opposite, and they have trouble getting an erection after sniffing them.

Joe’s bumper pride party saw queer heroes Boy George and Culture Club, Steps, and Self Esteem perform.

And of course, there was an abundance of celebrity guests including Hollywood superstar Rupert Everett, Heartstopper sensations Joe Locke and Yasmin Finney, It’s A Sin’s Olly Alexander, and comedian Mawaan Rizwan and Drag Race queens Tia Kofi and Tayce.
