However the film couldn’t make it to the prestigious awards in the West and the jury panel which makes the selection believed that the film has an anti-British agenda. After this news was out, there has been a debate on social media where netizens feel that it’s unfair for the film about an unsung hero not getting its due recognition. Today speaking to a leading daily, Vicky Kaushal shared his views about the film not being sent to the Oscars. He says that everybody has their right to their opinion. He further adds that if the jury experts have made a selection we need to respect it. Vicky also states that the Tamil film Koozhangal which has been the official entry is the best decision taken for Indian cinema to be on a global platform. Concluding on the same topic he said to the daily, “We should now root for the film that is selected, and hope that it brings us glory.” Wise words indeed.
