Vhong Navarro’s solemn vow this Holy Week: to love wife, devote more time to family
TV host-comedian Vhong Navarro has made a solemn vow to make up for all his shortcomings to his wife Tanya, whom he credits for being his pillar of strength during the tough times of their lives.
Navarro made this heartfelt reflection during a segment of the noontime show “It’s Showtime,” of which he is one of the co-hosts. In honor of the Holy Week, Navarro said that he wished to spend more time with his wife and their family, adding that he had a lot of catching up to do.
“Ang panata ko hindi lang ngayong Holy Week, gusto ko araw-araw, iyong mahalin ko ‘yong asawa ko araw-araw… malaki ang pagkukulang ko,” he said.
(My vow this holy week, and for every day, is to love my wife everyday. I owe her a lot for my shortcomings,” he said.
Navarro also expressed his gratitude to Tanya for not leaving him when he faced the rape case filed by model Deniece Cornejo, which resulted in his imprisonment for several months, beginning November.
Cornejo had accused the actor of sexually abusing her on two occasions in 2014 inside her condominium unit in Taguig.
Eventually, a ruling by the Supreme Court reversed the findings of the lower court, citing the findings of the Department of Justice panel of prosecutors that dismissed Cornejo’s complaints due to the “glaring and manifest inconsistencies” of her statement.
As Navarro recalled his imprisonment, he acknowledged his wife had been with him through thick and thin.
Thus, in order to make it up to her, he said that he would devote more time to his family instead of just focusing on work. EDV
