Very sweet nicknames Kate and William use for George, Charlotte and Louis

Although we may refer to them by their royal titles, the Cambridge family are like any other – conferring nicknames on each other, many of them very sweet ones. During the Platinum Jubilee last weekend we got a glimpse into the lives of the family.

As with most families there are nicknames within the family but also outside of it. With royal insiders having the scoop on what the family and friends refer to the little ones as.

Possibly surprising is the fact that although Prince George and Princess Charlotte are two of the most famous children on the planet, they don’t receive any special treatment at school.

At Thomas’ Battersea the pair are not referred to using their royal titles and are instead called George and Charlotte Cambridge. Although this is still a little formal for family and friends considering they’re only eight and seven years old.

Prince William has been overheard referring to Princess Charlotte as ‘Mignonette’ which is French for “small and delicate”. It has also been reported that Kate Middleton refers to her only daughter as “Lottie”, Middleton made the reference when speaking to a royal fan in Ireland a few years ago.

Not so much a nickname, we know, but it’s tough to imagine someone from the poshest family on the planet going by a shortened name. Meanwhile, in typical British fashion Prince George is affectionately referred to as “PG” and “Tips”, a nod to the famous British brand.

Prince Louis was a favourite amongst fans for his cheeky behaviour over the Jubilee weekend and though it is unclear what nickname Kate and William have given their youngest, fans have started referring to him as “Boss Baby”. The nickname comes from the Hollywood character.

One Twitter user wrote: “We love you, Prince Louis. Thank you for being the pioneer of real-life boss baby! I’m waiting for the next time we see you again. Xoxo.” A second patriot raved: “BOSS BABY!!! Prince Louis is being a KID!! Let’s put a camera on their kids, see how they behave!!!”
