Verstappen to sign mega new Formula 1 deal
Max Verstappen is on the verge of signing a long-term Red Bull deal which will make him one of the highest paid Formula 1 drivers in history.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, which is close to the Verstappen camp, the contract is worth an eye-watering $76 million per year.
The 24-year-old, who edged out Lewis Hamilton to claim last year’s world championship in controversial circumstances, is expected to commit to Red Bull for at least another five seasons under the deal. His current contract runs through until the end of 2023.

The Red Bull team has revolved around Verstappen for some time, and there was no serious suggestions he was looking to move. Along with Mercedes (George Russell), McLaren (Lando Norris) and Ferrari (Charles Leclerc), Red Bull now has its long-term future sorted.
The Dutchman, who made his debut at 17 in 2015, became the youngest ever winner of a grand prix a year later in his first race for Red Bull.
“There is no reason to change (teams), ever,” Verstappen said after winning the world title.
“I want to stay with them (Red Bull) for the rest of my life and hope they let me.”
Verstappen opens his world title defence in Bahrain on March 20.
