Venom: Let There Be Carnage Release Date Moved Up

Sony has moved up the release date of Venom: Let There Be Carnage by two weeks. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Venom: Let There Be Carnage will now release on October 1, instead of the previous date of October 15.

The Venom sequel has been delayed multiple times so far. Some reports had even claimed that Venom 2 could be delayed until 2022. However, we are getting the movie early. It remains to be seen whether the much-awaited Venom 2 will release on the same day in India. As movie theaters in many parts of country are allowed to reopen with COVID-19 safety measures in place, tentpole movies like F9, Old, Mortal Kombat, The Suicide Squad, and more have been released. Currently, movie theaters in many states and Union Territories including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat, Haryana, Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh have reopened. Although many of these movies have released in India weeks after their global release, movies like No Time To Die and Marvel’s Eternals are releasing simultaneously with UK and US respectively. Hopefully, Sony India will announce the Venom: Let There Be Carnage release date for India soon.

The move seems to come after the success of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ over the Labor Day weekend in the US. After successful releases like these, Sony might feel more confident to move up the release date of Venom 2.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage brings back Tom Hardy as Venom and tells a new origin story for Carnage.
